Just like with David Corenswet Chris Reeve is the best Superman ever. He exhudes the essence of the character and his legendary status as the iconic comic book character is undeniable and revered. He had great acting skills but he final stint as the Man of Steel was less than stellar. That would be 1987’s The Quest For Peace. That was one of the biggest flops of all time and it puit a damper on the greatness of its Reeve predeecessors.
But that aside, Reeve is definitely best. In 2006 DC tried using a look-a-like in the form of a young Brandon Routh who’s role as the lead nearly killed his career before it got off the ground. It was a big flop and it made Superman look like a super-dunce and a joke.
Henry Cavill did great in 2013 but David Corenswet revived people’s hope and faith in the character and now it’s box office gold with a sequel in the works. It doesn’t matter how many actors don the cape and trunks, Reeve will always be the Superman of our hearts.
